Modern Airport Furniture: Furnishing Airport Lounges and Waiting Areas

Airports present a unique challenge in regards to furniture. Waiting areas and lounges in airports are typically very minimalist, meaning the furniture ends up being the focal point of an area. The furniture itself needs to be able to seat many people, but also be comfortable for those who have a long time to wait. It must be compact, but not cramped.

Industrial design has become increasingly popular over the past decade. Many houses, condominiums, lofts, and restaurants are focusing on this theme.

Finding furniture for small spaces is a difficult task. You want a modern design and sleek furniture, but don’t have room to experiment with different styles. It can be hard to find the right “look” for a small area.

With the prices of condominiums going up in many large cities around the world, square footage continues to decrease, making it essential to know how to decorate and furnish a small space. With modern furniture, it’s possible to have beautiful and modern design without sacrificing square footage. There are many tips and tricks you can use to give the illusion of space in a small room, apartment, or condominium.

Designing a Small Space

When choosing a style and design for a small space like a condominium, the idea “less is more” always applies. There are many traditional pieces of furniture that can be replaced by smaller, more efficient pieces to give your condominium the feel of having more space.

Using modern bar stools at a kitchen counter (or island, if there is one) is a great alternative to having a dining room table. Most newer condominiums don’t have any space for a dining room or eat-in kitchen. Bar stools offer a modern look while taking up very little space in your kitchen.

Seating is always a top priority. If you have the space, choosing one modern sectional sofa can be a great way to provide ample seating without worrying about multiple pieces of furniture. If the space seems too cramped with a sectional sofa, using a variety of comfortable chairs can be a great way to save space. Choosing modern styles, colours, and designs for chairs can be a great way to create a unique look.

It’s important to have table space as well. Smaller coffee tables that can be positioned around the condominium, or night stands against walls can be great ways to create table space without the inconvenience of bulky pieces.

Choosing Modern Furniture

Once you’ve decided how to design your ‘cozy’ space, you can begin to choose modern furniture for your condominium that will provide enough function and comfort while still letting you have space in your home. sohoConcept produces pieces that are ideal for decorating condominiums.

If you have the space, the Simena Condo Sectional Sofa is a great way to provide seating for when guests visit. It is available in velvet or wool, depending on the durability you need. The Taxim Sectional Sofa is available with an ottoman which can be kept with the couch, or moved around easily to provide extra seating. This is a great option if you want to have a flexible modern design.
